There is good walking on the Mendip Hills whilst Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea, both popular resorts with sandy beaches, are just 15 miles away.  Nearby are the  nature reserves of the Somerset Levels.

THE VILLAGE

On the A371 adjoining the Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels, Draycott is central to Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and the cathedral city of Wells. It is the centre of the English strawberry growing region and fruit is available from March to November. There is a pub, post office/shop, school, church, village hall and recreation field in the village.
